We Are Better Together
We get it, the day-to-day can be a struggle. We need to have a support system in place. When we build a healthy support system, we’re able to get through even the toughest of challenges. We help hold each other up and show our support through advice and even just lending an ear. If we didn’t have that, we might end up feeling lonely, depressed, and at times, just plan defeated.
Building a support system isn’t easy. Women sometimes struggle to support other women. It’s not really their fault. It’s just how we were brought up over the years. Society has made it seem like we have to be better or at least equals to run in the same circles, and that’s not true. We need each other, and we need to work hard to change these supposed norms.
Women need each other in this world more than ever. In a society where men still dominate the social, economic, political networks, we need to rise up and stick together to support each other. The impact of women building strong communities of other women is a growing phenomenon.
When you need support in your personal and professional life, having a strong connection to other women who have dealt with similar challenges, can share valuable advice on how they made it through, support you through your challenges, and celebrate when you succeed can make all the difference and, in many cases, can be the turning point between continuing and stopping what you were created to do.
It’s no secret that women face gender bias, workplace harassment, reproductive health issues, and just overall safety concerns. We are often targeted in-person and online when we speak up and defend ourselves. Those comment sections are an ugly place where men can easily hide behind their computer screens and “put us in our place.” Thankfully, women have begun to rise up and fight back with our zero-tolerance policy. Having a community of strong women that makes us feel safe speaking up and communicating when something is wrong is a powerful weapon we have only just begun to wield.
In business too? That’s clear that women are starting to bridge the inequality gap in professional businesses, but it has not been easy, and you can still see how far we have yet to go. The more women we can get to join communities, the more support, and encouragement we can show to help women grow professionally and personally, the stronger we are TOGETHER. Let’s climb those corporate and entrepreneur ladders and shatter that glass ceiling.
It takes courage, dedication, and mindfulness to make meaningful changes. Let’s start building a strong community of women who are there for each other, build each other up, and create a safe space as we navigate life. There’s no doubt that we work better when working together.
The Sisu Collective is passionate about building a community of women and helping to foster strong relationships and meaningful connections. If you know a woman that can benefit from a community of women living a life of purpose and intention, invite her to join our community – WE ARE A MOVEMENT.
